Sugimoto tosses Waipahu past Pearl City 4-1 in OIA Red West Varsity Baseball

Waipahu's Dylan Sugimoto recorded his second win against Pearl City this season while leading the Marauders over the Chargers 4-1 in Oahu Interscholastic Association Red Western Division Varsity Baseball played on Wednesday at Pearl City High School.

Sugimoto pitched seven complete innings allowing one run on five hits with five strikeouts and two walks. The Marauders ace also batted 1-3 with an RBI and a walk.

Pearl City's Dane Kaneshiro went the distance for the Chargers tossing seven complete innings while allowing four runs on four hits with five strikeouts and three walks. Kaneshiro also led the Chargers at the plate hitting 2-3.

With the win, Waipahu improves to 6-3 in the league play. Pearl City falls to 3-7.

The Chargers return to action on Wednesday, April 16, on the road, at Leilehua. First pitch is scheduled for 3:30pm.
