Ewa Beach defeats Pearl City 4-2 in District 7 Hawaii Little League 50/70 Championship Tournament

Ewa Beach defeated Pearl City 4-2 in the District 7 Hawaii Little League 50/70 Intermediate State Championship Tournament on Tuesday, July 1, at Pride Field in Kapolei.

Nicholas Sampson earned the win for Ewa Beach. Carter Hirano got the start for Pearl City.

Ewa Beach scored one run in the bottom of second inning and pushed across three more runs in the bottom of third inning. Pearl City scored a one run in the top of third inning and added a run in the top of the sixth inning. Pearl City left runners on base in scoring position at second and third in the top of the seventh inning to end the game.

Ewa Beach moves on to the tournament championship on Thursday, July 3, 2014. Pearl City will play Kona Coast on Wednesday, July 3 in the losers bracket with the winner to advance to Thursday's championship against Ewa Beach. First pitch is schedule for 12:00pm. The winner will need to beat Ewa Beach twice on Thursday to claim the championship. First game is scheduled for 12:00pm. An "If" game for the championship will follow at 3:00pm.

inning. Ewa Beach scored three runs in the inning to take a 4-1 lead over Pearl City.
