Kona Coast rolls past Pearl City 11-1 in District 7 Hawaii 50/70 State Tourney

Kona Coast eliminated Pearl City 11-1 from the 2014 District 7 Hawaii Little League 50/70 Intermediate State Championship Tournament on Wednesday at Pride Field in Kapolei and now moves on to today's tournament championship against Ewa Beach.

Yesterday's ball game between Kona Coast (1-1) and Pearl City (1-2) was called in the bottom of the 5th inning due to the 10-run rule. Kona Coast entered the bottom of the fifth inning leading Pearl City 8-1 before scoring three runs to end the game at 11-1.

Kona Coast will take on Ewa Beach today at 12:00pm at Pride Field. If Ewa Beach wins, they will be crowned state champions. If Kona Coast wins, they will force a winner-take-all second game for the state championship title at 3:00pm.

2014 District 7 Majors Hawaii Little League Championship

Waipio defeated Ewa Beach 5-1 to claim the tournament championship. Waipio advances to the state championship tournament at Pride Field from July 18 – July 22.
