Pearl City community volunteers representing the Pearl City Lions Club, Pearl City Foundation, Pearl City Community Association, and MyPearlCity.com, joined volunteers from the Mana Loa-Nimitz Lions Club, Aiea community, and Aiea Library staff to move the last remaining books from the old Aiea Library to the newly completed 17, 200 square foot Aiea Library located at the site of the former Aiea Sugar Mill at 99-374 Pohai Place.
The new Aiea Library is scheduled to open its doors starting with a Grand Opening Ceremony this Saturday, July 19, 2014 at 10:00am. The public is invited to attend and be the first to enjoy the new library and its upgraded services.
The original Aiea Library located at 99-143 Moanalua Road closed its doors on Monday, June 7, 2014 after 50 years of service to the Aiea community and their ohana. The original Aiea Library was built back in 1964.
Mahalo to all the Pearl City community volunteers who helped out their Aiea neighbors on Saturday to move into their new, beautiful, state-of-the-art, environmentally-friendly, Aiea Library home.

from the original Aiea Library located at 99-143 Moanalua Road to the new Aiea Library
located at 99-374 Pohai Place. Aiea Library staff members spent Saturday morning and
afternoon placing the books in order on the new, shiny, Aiea library book shelves.

The new Aiea Library features 12 public Internet computers, two public access computers (electronic
card catalogs) as well as free wireless Internet access with a valid HSPLS library card. The new
library also has available over 8,000 DVDs and CDs and shelf space to accommodate 78.000 books.
