MyPearlCity.com would like send our congratulations to Momilani Elementary School third grade teacher Mr. Masaru Uchino who has just been announced as the 2015 Leeward District Teacher of the Year. Mr. Uchino is well deserved of the honor and will also be in the running for the 2015 Hawaii Teacher of the Year Award.
"Announcement of the 2015 Hawaii Teacher of the year will be made during ceremonies at the State Capitol Auditorium on Friday, November 7, 3:00 p.m," said Momilani Elementary School Principal Mrs. Doreen Higa. "We hope you will be able join us in honoring Masaru Uchino. Mr. Uchino, a third grade teacher is an exceptional educator who puts forward his life serving people–at Momilani and in the community."
Mr. Uchino is dedicated in delivering the best education experience possible for all of his students. Academically, his kids excel in the classroom and with regard to extracurricular activities, the kids are given the opportunity to participate in clubs such as the Momilani Fit Factory that builds and teaches the importance of proper exercise, nutrition, and healthy choices.
Mr. Uchino is also an accomplished playwright and director and has written several musicals that the students and staff have performed and starred in as a part of the school's Dramatic Arts Program.
Once again congratulations to Mr. Uchino as well as the awesome Momilani Elementary School support ohana!
