Pearl City Library Celebrates 45th Anniversary this Sunday, November 16

The Pearl City Public Library, located at 1138 Waimano Home Road, will celebrate its 45th Anniversary with special programs on Sunday, November 16 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The public is invited to attend this free event which is sponsored by the Friends of the Library of Hawaii and Friends of Pearl City Public Library. The Library will be open during its normal Sunday hours of 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The special programs include:

* 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Balloon Monsoon. Balloon Monsoon will present balloon twisting with a magical twist. Children of all ages are invited to watch "magical twistings" and receive a free balloon sculpture. Refreshments will be served while supplies last.

* 2 p.m. – Chinese Lion Dance. The Lung Kong Physical Cultural Club will present a lion dance to help chase evil spirits away and celebrate the Library's 45th Anniversary event!

Programs are subject to change. Pearl City Public Library, which opened on November 16, 1969 as the Pearl City Regional Library, is one of the largest libraries on Oahu and spans 23,565 square feet.
