PCHS Band receives $500.00 donation from Pearl City Shopping Center Merchants Association

On Tuesday, December 23, the Pearl City Shopping Center Merchants Association presented Pearl City High School Director of Bands, Chad Kamei, and a handful of PCHS band members with a $500.00 check donation in support of the band program.

PCSC Merchants Association Board member Sheri Rolf handed Mr. Kamei the check donation during a presentation ceremony held in front of the PCHS Band room.

"We are very appreciative of the generous donation by the Pearl City Shopping Center, which will help to augment many of the activities that we coordinate," said Mr. Kamei. "A few of those activities are the Pearl City Complex Concert (Feb 21st), the Leeward District Band Festival (April 1), as well as our marching band. We are so grateful for our supportive community since we could not do anything without them! Mahalo Nui Loa!!"

The award winning and internationally recognized PCHS Marching Band recently returned in early December from Chicago where the band performed while representing Hawaii in the 81st McDonald's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Tuesday's $500.00 check donation was the second monetary donation made to Pearl City High School in the first half of the 2014-2015 school year. The PCHS Athletics Program also received a $500.00 donation in the beginning of the school year.

The Pearl City Shopping Center Merchants Association, in support of our schools in the Pearl City District Complex, also presented the following schools with monetary donations in first semester of the 2014-2015 school year:

Pearl City Elementary School: 10 – $100 Pearl City Shopping Center gift certificates

Kanoelani Elementary School: 10 – $100 Pearl City Shopping Center gift certificates

Highlands Intermediate School Science Club: $500.00 cash donation
