Pearl City moves to 4-2 with 38-36 win over Kapolei

Pearl City improved to 4-2 in Oahu Interscholastic Association Division 1 boys’ basketball after defeating Kapolei 38-36 on Wednesday at Pearl City High School.

Pierce McMoore and Garrett Kanamu both scored 10 points to lead the Chargers.

Kapolei's Jayson Manapul led all scorers with 12 points (four 3-pointers).

The Chargers came back in the second half, after trailing the Hurricanes 19-12 to end the first half, to outscore the Hurricanes 12-7 in the third period and 14-10 in the fourth period.

Both teams return to league play on Tuesday, January 27 with Pearl City hosting Waialua and Kapolei taking on Waipahu at home.
