Kahuku blanks Pearl City 1-0 in OIA D1 Soccer Championship Quarterfinals

Kahuku advanced to the semifinals of the Oahu Interscholastic Association D1 Varsity Girls Soccer Championship Tournament after defeating Pearl City 1-0 in the quarterfinals last night at Kahuku High School.

Kamaile Aluli scored the winning goal for Kahuku on a header in the 74th minute.

Kahuku will take on Moanalua tonight at Castle High School with kick off scheduled for 7:00pm. Moanalua defeated Aiea 1-0 in the first game of the quarterfinal doubleheader played at Kahuku last night.

Mililani will match-up with Campbell tonight at 5:30pm in the first game of the semifinal doubleheader at Castle. Mililani beat Kapolei 3-0 and Campbell defeated Kaiser 4-3 to advance to the championship semifinals.

Pearl City will play Aiea tonight at 7:00pm in a consolation bracket doubleheader at Roosevelt High School. Kapolei will battle Kaiser at 5:30pm. Winners will advance to compete for 5th place in the tournament on Friday, January 30, 5:30pm at Castle High School.

Tonight's consolation winners qualify for the HHSAA State Tournament. The top six teams from the OIA championship tournament earn state tournament berths.
