Nakamura pitches Pearl City past Radford 4-2

Pearl City's Trestan Nakamura went the distance on Tuesday to lead the Chargers over the visiting Radford Rams 4-2 in Oahu Interscholastic Association Western Division varsity baseball played at Pearl City High School.

Nakamura pitched seven complete innings allowing two runs on four hits with seven strikeouts and three walks.

Radford's Landyn Bartness pitched six complete innings for the Rams allowing four runs on ten hits with three strikeouts and two walks. Bartness also batted 1-3 with a RBI.

Matt Tsutomi hit 2-2 with 2 RBI and a run scored for Pearl City. Charger teammate Christian Onomura went 2-3 at the plate with a run scored.

Pearl City broke a 2-2 tie in the bottom of the fourth inning scoring two runs to take a 4-2 lead. Both teams went scoreless the rest of the way.

With the win, Pearl City improved to 2-1 while Radford fell to 1-4 in league play.

The Chargers will host undefeated Campbell on Saturday, March 21 with first pitch scheduled for 11:00am.

of the fourth inning that set up Matt Tsutomi's RBI single that put the Chargers up 3-2.
