Campbell's Ian Kahaloa proved why Major League Baseball has a close eye on the Saber ace after an impressive one hit, 4-0 shut out win over Pearl City on Wednesday at Campbell High School.

Kahaloa pitched well in front of a full gallery of MLB scouts who have been following Hawaii's latest pro prospect during the 2015 Oahu Interscholastic Association D1 West regular season. In the win, Kahaloa pitched seven complete innings allowing no runs on one hit with seven strikeouts and two walks. He also contributed at the plate batting 1-3 with an RBI.

Pearl City starting pitcher Dane Kaneshiro took the loss allowing four runs on four hits with two strikeouts and two walks in four innings of work for the Chargers. Chevy Sumile pitched two innings in relief allowing no runs on two hits with one strikeout.

Campbell (9-2) has already secured a first round bye in next week's OIA D1 Championship Tourney. The Sabers will finish out the regular season on Friday, April 17 against DI West leader Mililani (10-1) at Hans L 'Orange Park in Waipahu. At stake is the division championship and order of seeding for the OIA championship tournament. Mililani knocked off Campbell 2-1 at Mililani on March 28 to take over sole possession of first place in the division.

Pearl City (7-4) will represent the West #3 seed and will play East #6 seed Roosevelt next Wednesday in the championship tournament opening round. The Chargers finish out the regular season on Saturday, April 18, at home against Waianae. The Chargers are looking to avenge a 5-4 loss on the road to the Seariders on March 28.

Campbell got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the second inning after Jake Mendoza hit a bunt towards third base that was fielded and thrown away at the bag at first allowing Zachary Kapihe to score from second base. The Sabers struck again in the inning on a sac bunt by Dewayne Sprinkel that scored pinch runner Shane Shimizu from third base. The Sabers took a 2-0 lead. The third run of inning came on a two-out RBI single to left field by Blayze Arcano-Llacuna that scored Mendoza from second base. The Sabers ended the bottom of the second inning with 3-0 lead. Dewayne Sprinkel scored the Sabers final run of the ball game in the bottom of the fourth inning to put the Sabers up 4-0.
