Peanut Butter strikes out 11, leads Pearl City over Kailua 4-2

Tyanna Peanut Butter Kaaialii showed her toughness on the mound once again for the Lady Chargers after earning a 4-2 win over Kailua in the quarterfinals of the Oahu Interscholastic Association Division I Softball Championship Tournament played at Kailua High School.

Peanut Butter struck out a season high 11 batters while allowing two runs on two hits with three walks in 5 2/3 innings of work. Kristin Frost pitched 1 1/3 innings to close out the ball game and earn the save.

Darian Obara made the difference at the plate for the Lady Chargers hitting 3-4 with 2 RBI. Hope Casarez, 1-4, two runs scored and Noel Saunders 1-4, one run scored contributed at the plate in the Lady Chargers win over Kailua.

Dyani Cummings-Lani took the loss for the Lady Surfriders. Dyani Cummings-Lani allowed four runs on five hits with one strikeout and two walks in seven complete innings.

The Lady Chargers (11-3) move on to tonight's semifinals and will face W1 seed Campbell (11-2) at McKinley High School with first pitch scheduled for 5:00pm. In the second game of the semifinal doubleheader at McKinley, undefeated and E1 seed Kaiser (13-0) will battle with W2 seed Mililani (11-2) at 7:00pm. Both games will be televised live on OC 16.
