Pearl City jumped out in front of Maryknoll 2-0 in the top of the first inning before the Lady Spartans answered with six runs in bottom of the inning and never looked back for a 8-3 win last night in the first round of the DateHouse Division I Softball Championship Tournament played at Rainbow Wahine Stadium.
Shearyna Labasan earned the win for the Lady Spartans. Labasan also batted 2-4 with 2 RBI.
Tyanna Kaaialii took the loss for the Lady Chargers.
At the plate for the Lady Spartans, Mylee Enos batted 2-3 with 2 runs scored. Tamia Hirano batted 2-3 with 2 RBI and a run scored. Kamalei Labasan went 2-3, RBI, run scored.
Hailey-Alexis Yamaguchi batted 2-3 with a double and 2 RBI for the Lady Chargers. Taylyn Kimura batted 2-3, RBI followed by Hope Casarez 1-3.
Maryknoll moves on to the tournament quarterfinals and will face #4 Waiakea at 3:00pm today at Rainbow Wahine Stadium.
Pearl City is scheduled to take on Lahainaluna in the consolation bracket at 9:00am.

Tyanna Peanut Butter Kaaialii took the loss for the Lady Chargers. Kaaialii
allowed eight runs on eleven hits with one strikeout and five walks in
5 1/3 innings. Kristen Frost pitched a third of an inning in relief of Kaaialii.
