One more school to go! Yesterday afternoon, Pearlridge Rotarian Ed Kido and myself, presented Manana Elementary School third graders, Shylah Quimoyog-Nguyen and Evan Biel with Rotary Club of Pearlridge Dictionary 5000 Good Citizen Awards along with $50.00 checks.
Tomorrow, St. Elizabeth School in Aiea will be the final school out of 12 Pearl City and Aiea schools to receive Good Citizen Awards from the RCOP. It's been a great experience visiting with the students to start the 2014-2015 school year when RCOP presenters donated over 850 dictionaries to students and their teachers.
It has also been a humbling experience seeing the pride in the students, parents, teachers, and administrators as the names of each Good Citizen Award recipient was called out while being cheered on by their fellow third grade classmates.
Mahalo for all the support from the following schools and for the generosity of the Rotary Club of Pearlridge for their annual support of our Pearl City and Aiea third grade students.
