Kamehameha Highway Guideway Construction Notification – Waimano Home Road to Pu’u Poni Street

Kiewit will begin setting up concrete barriers between Waimano Home Road and Puu Poni Street (in front of Pearl City Shopping Center) starting on June 15 for foundation shaft work. This is the same work that is currently in place between Acacia Road and Waimano Home Road.

Construction Update: Crews will begin installing drilled shaft (foundations) for the rail guideway section between Waimano Home Road and Pu’u Poni Street. The work will involve heavy equipment, so please expect increased noise levels. We apologize in advance and appreciate your patience.

Traffic Plans: One left-turn lane and the inside lane in the eastbound direction of Kamehameha Highway will be closed 24/7 for the duration of this operation. One left-turn lane and two through lanes will remain open during peak travel times.

Noise Notification: For those living or working in close proximity to the work zone, please pardon the inconvenience. Expect increased noise levels during roadway and utility work that may require heavy machinery for saw cutting, excavation, drilling, and unloading of materials.
