Pearl City wins D7 Junior Little League Championship!

PEARL CITY JUNIORS REACH D7 HEAVEN!
Congratulations to the newly crowned 2015 Hawaii Little League Juniors (13-14) District 7 Champions! Pearl City defeated MKH 5-1 on Sunday at Pacheco Park in Pearl City to win the championship title.

Carter Hirano pitched seven complete innings to earn the championship win.

Jacob Filio got the start for MKH. Aidan Koanui pitched the sixth and seventh innings in relief of Filio.

The Pearl City advances to the state championship tournament that runs from Thursday, July 16 through Monday, July 20 at Kailua High School.

Mason Topinka drove in Shawn Iwane from third base with a RBI single to score the first run of

the ball game in the top of the second inning. Iwane led off the inning with a double to centerfield.

Cade Halemanu hit a RBI sac fly that scored Rayson Carriaga from third base in

the top of the third inning. Carriaga got into scoring position at the third base after

hitting a triple with one out. Pearl City led MKH 2-0 heading to the bottom of the inning.

MKH scored their only run of the ball game on a RBI sac fly by Kalae Holt with two outs in the

bottom of the fourth inning that brought home pinch runner Jackson Waialae from third base.
