Kaimuki powers past Pearl City 33-19 in OIA D2 varsity football

Kaimuki powered past Pearl City on the ground and through the air to defeat the Chargers 33-19 in Oahu Interscholastic Association Division 2 Varsity Football on played on Saturday at Kaiser High School.

Kaimuki QB Keanu Pratt guided the Bulldogs offense completing  8 of 24 passes for 152 yards and 3 touchdowns. Pratt also rushed for 34 yards on 5 carries. Billy Masima rushed for 131 yards on 20 carries and 2 touchdowns to lead the Bulldogs ground game. Andrew Neves caught 2 passes for 56 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Pearl City QB Kekainalu Simon completed 13 of 29 for 174 yards and 3 touchdowns. Joe Maneafaiga, Isaiah Asinsin and Israel Kaleo each caught a touchdown pass for the Chargers.

The Bulldogs outgained the Chargers in net offense 341-225.

On defense Kaimuki's Sisifo Lauvao and Cain Asiata each recorded a sack. Ben Tana-INT

Christian Punsalan and Thor Solmerin each recorded a sack for Pearl City. Brody Padilla-INT

Pearl City and Kaimuki are both pulled even at 2-2 in regular season league play.   

Next up for Chargers is a home game against Radford on Friday, September 18.

Pearl City QB Kekainalu Simon completed 13 of 29 passes for 174 yards and

3 touchdowns. Simon threw a 13 yard touchdown strike to Joe Maneafaiga at 11:33

of the second quarter to tie the game at 6-6. Simon also struck gold through the air

on a 20 yard TD completion to Isaiah Asinsin with 0:02 on the clock in the third quarter

and at 3:42 of fourth quarter, Simon hit Israel Kaleo on a 51 yard TD pass.
