Chargers to begin quest for state baseball championship title

The Pearl City Chargers will travel to Maui to begin play at the 2016  Wally Yonamine Foundation Hawaii State Division I Baseball Championship Tournament on Wednesday with an opening round match-up against the  Maui Sabers at Iron Maehara Stadium in Wailuku. First pitch is scheduled for 7:00pm.

Pearl City (14-1) finished third in the Oahu Interscholastic Association Division I Baseball Championship Tournament. Maui  (10-4) finished runner-up to Baldwin (14-0) in the Maui Interscholastic League Division I Baseball Championship Tournament.

The Pearl City vs. Maui winner will advance to play Big Island Interscholastic Federation Champion Waiakea (15-2) in the championship tournament quarterfinals on Thursday, May 4 at 1:30pm.
