Lady Chargers power past Iolani 8-4, advance to quarterfinals

The Lady Chargers powered their way past Iolani 8-4 in the HHSAA State DI Softball Championship Tournament First Round on Tuesday to advance the championship tournament quarterfinals against BIIF Champ #4 Waiakea this afternoon at 2:30pm at the UH Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium.

Pearl City's Tyanna Kaaialii continued her dominance on the mound for the Lady Chargers earning the win last night behind a complete game performance allowing four runs on six hits with 11 strikeouts and four walks. Tyanna also contributed at the plate batting 1-3 with a triple and a run scored.

Iolani's Aleia Agbayani took the loss allowing eight runs on thirteen hits with no strikeouts and three walks in seven complete innings.

The Lady Chargers pounded out thirteen hits including a homerun shot by senior Hope Casarez. Hope batted 2-3, HR, RBI. 2 Runs.
