HECO replacing underground electric cables in Momilani Subdivision

May 16, 2016 | PC Community

Submitted by Hawaiian Electric Community Relations:

Our crews are replacing the aging underground electric cables in the Momilani Subdivision and the work is now moving towards the heavily traveled Komo Mai Drive.  The good news is that we will be able to keep a lane open in each direction during construction, but we will need to restrict parking between Hoolehua Street and Hoolaulea Street.  The construction activity will also inconvenience the nearby residents and we are working closely with them as we install a new service cable for the community.

Project Information

Hawaiian Electric Company crews will be performing utility work along Komo Mai Drive in Pearl City as part of a project to improve system reliability in the area. The work will be performed on May 16 to July 8, Monday through Friday, between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

On-street parking on Komo Mai Drive between Hoolehua Street and Hoolaulea Street will be restricted during construction hours, but will be restored at the end of the workday until the following morning.  Crews will be working on both sides of Komo Mai Drive, but a lane in each direction will remain open to allow for two-way traffic through the work area.

Hawaiian Electric wants to advise the public about this work and apologizes for any inconvenience.
