The Pearl City Community Association recently presented 10 very deserving Pearl City High School Seniors from the Class of 2016 with $500.00 PCCA Scholarship Awards. The seniors received PCCA recognition certificates during the annual Pearl City High School Ohana Night on held at the Pearl City Cultural Center on Friday, May 13, 2016. They were presented $500.00 PCCA Scholarship checks during the Annual PCCA Scholarship Dinner held at the Pearl City Cultural Center on Tuesday, May 17, 2016.
PCCA Scholarship recipients were chosen by the PCCA scholarship committee after reviewing dozens of entries who submitted essays that focused on their Pearl City High School accomplishments in the classroom, extra-curricular activities, and community service. Financial need for their higher education goals along with recommendations from PCHS teachers and administration and the community were also included in the decision process.
The Pearl City Community Association makes available $5000.00 for scholarships for Pearl City High School seniors each school year through annual fundraiser events as well as PCCA membership drives.
