Pearl City beats Waialua 6-2 at Hawaii Little League District 7 Juniors Championship Tournament

Pearl City eliminated Waialua 6-2 on Saturday, June 25 from the Hawaii Little League District 7 Juniors Championship Tournament played at Pride Field in Kapolei.

Shaden Yamura earned the win for Pearl City. Brayden Bustamante-Kahale and Sheldon Yamura pitched in relief for Pearl City. Erik Bell got the start for Waialua. Kyler Dicion pitched in relief of Bell.

Pearl City (1-1) moves on in the double elimination championship tournament and will face Ewa Beach (1-1) on Sunday, June 26 as both teams battle their way out of the loser’s bracket for a chance to face MKH for the tournament championship title. MKH (2-0) defeated Ewa Beach 6-5 on Saturday to advance to the championship game scheduled for Monday, June 27 at Pride Field.

Sunday's  winner between Pearl City and Ewa Beach will be tasked to beat MKH twice to win the championship and advance to the state championship tournament scheduled for July 14 – July 19 on the Big Island.

Pearl City Seniors Update:

Pearl City dropped their Hawaii Little League District 7 Seniors Championship Tournament opener on Saturday 6-5 to MKH at Pride Field in Kapolei. The two teams will meet again tomorrow, Sunday, June 26 at 12 noon in the best of three game series for the championship. If MKH wins, they will be crowned champions. If Pearl City wins, they will force a winner-take-all championship game that will follow 30 minutes after the conclusion of tomorrow's first game. The District 7 Seniors Champion advances to the state tournament at Ala Wai Field from July 2 – July 4.
