Kids make Pala’ie, Hawaiian Loop and ball game at Pearl City Elementary School

I would like to say mahalo to Pearl City Elementary School for inviting me on Monday, July 18 to sit in and meet with Makua Leilani, along with her son, Kekoaokalani, and daughter, Kamalanimalie, as they taught the children how to make a Pala'ie, a  Hawaiian loop and ball game using coconut leaflets in the school cafeteria.

The kids had a great time learning how to make the traditional Hawaiian Pala'ie game from the experts, Makua Leilani, Kekoaokalani, and Kamalanimalie.

Also, mahalo to Pearl City Elementary School PCNC, A+ Coordinator, Renee Morikawa for the opportunity to learn how to make the ancient Hawaiian craft game as well. The kids caught on fast and were very proud of their hand crafted Pala'ie.
