I had a great time Saturday night at the Pearl City Hongwanji Mission Obon Festival and Bon Dance. It was really nice to see so many friends and neighbors enjoying themselves with their ohana.
Mahalo to Reverend Mariko Nishiyama and the Pearl City Hongwanji Mission for inviting our community to experience, celebrate, and honor the Japanese culture in Pearl City.
Also, mahalo for the ono food and desserts! Wow, I really enjoyed sharing a Kalua Pig plate and Shoyu Chicken plate!
The annual 2016 Pearl City Hongwanji Mission Obon Festival and Bon Dance was held this weekend on both Friday and Saturday evenings.
