The Rotary Club of Pearlridge (RCOP) will begin their annual Rotary International Dictionary 5000 Project next week with the first of twelve deliveries and presentations of free dictionaries donated by the RCOP to third grade students and their teachers representing Pearl City and Aiea elementary schools.
Pearl City Elementary School will be the first school to receive their brand new dictionaries from the RCOP on Wednesday, September 7, 2016. Over 800 free dictionaries will make their way into the third grade classrooms in the next few weeks.
Good Citizen Awards
With each school visit, the students will be introduced to the Rotary Club's "Four Way Test" that will help guide them toward being good citizens. Each dictionary includes the "Four Way Test" Principles for the students to study and practice.

1. Is it the truth;
2. Is it fair to all concerned,
3. Will it bring good will and better friendships,
4. Will it be beneficial to all concerned.
At the end of the school year, teachers will select a student from their third grade classes who best exemplified being a good citizen. Each student will be presented a $50.00 check at each schools end of the school year awards assemblies.
