The Rotary Club of Pearlridge (RCOP) completed their 2016 Rotary International Dictionary 5000 Project on Tuesday, September,ber 20 with a presentation at Manana Elementary School. Community volunteers from the RCOP donated over 800 dictionaries during classroom visits to third grade students and their teachers at twelve Aiea and Pearl City Elementary Schools during the month of September, 2016.
Good Citizen Awards
With each school visit, the students were introduced to the Rotary Club's "Four Way Test" that will help guide them towards being good citizens. Each dictionary included the "Four Way Test" Principles for the students to study and practice. The RCOP will return to each school at the end of the school year to award one student who best exemplified being a good citizen with a $50.00 check.
