2016 Mayor’s annual Craft & County Fair

Nov 20, 2016 | PC Community

I had a great time on Saturday hanging out at the 2016 Mayor's annual Craft & County Fair held at the Blaisdell Exhibition Hall. Senior Citizen Clubs from across Oahu offered incredible hand-crafted gift items as well as fresh baked, ono dessert and local snacks.

Mahalo to the woman of our Pearl City Waiau Senior Club who helped me stock up on an awesome selection of mochi desserts and gifts items. They are a very special group of women who are always out in the community volunteering their time to serve while sharing their talents and Aloha spirit with others.

I was on a mission on Saturday to make sure I got to the Pali Seniors Club booth to pick up some cookies from my Aunty Ning before they were sold out. Aunty bakes the best cookies. When the opportunity comes up to get your hands on a batch of her fresh baked goodies, you make the dash. Well, sorry to say I got their too late. But, while I was there talking to the ladies, Mayor Kirk Caldwell came by to visit with the club members. Now that was a special treat to chat with Mayor Caldwell for a bit. He was present during the event visiting and shopping among the dozens of craft and food item booths. He's definitely a people's mayor.

Mahalo to Mayor Caldwell, and to all who made the 2016 Mayor's annual Craft & County Fair a huge success for the community!
