I would like to say congratulations to my friend and PCHS Class of 1977 classmate John Rosa who retired a few days ago from the City & County of Honolulu after 34 years of service.
I ran into John this past Thursday at the Pearl City vs. Waialua varsity boys and girls soccer games played at the Waipio Peninsula Soccer Complex in Waipio. John is a longtime Waialua High School coach and community youth and adult league coach/player and league organizer.
John and his ohana are also beloved Waialua community volunteers that truly make a difference in their community.
John is also looking forward to spending more time involved in supporting the sport and community he loves. As long as I have known John, he has either been a soccer player or coach, or both at the same time. But most of all, he surrounds himself with people who care for one another. (Gotta be the country living!)
