Pearl City, Kapolei showdown ends in 1-1 tie

Pearl City and Kapolei played to a 1-1 tie last night in a dramatic and key Oahu Interscholastic Association Western Division Boys Varsity Soccer battle for first place in league standings at Kapolei High School. Kapolei got on the scoreboard in the 70th minute off a header by Sean Yoshida with an assist by Hurricane teammate Eric Aquino. The Chargers fought back scoring at the 74th minute on Devan Yoshimura's header that came off a free kick by Justice Gomes.

Kapolei (6-0-2) sits atop the OIA West with Pearl City (6-1-1) and Mililani (6-0-1) tied at second place in league standings.  Kapolei and Pearl City have two games remaining in the regular season while Mililani has three games left beginning with a match-up with Aiea (0-6-1) tonight at home.
