Pearl City blanks Waianae 10-0 (5) behind Kaaialii no-hitter

Pearl City's Tyanna "Peanut Butter" Kaaialii tossed a no-hitter and Kylie Tasaki went 3-3 at the plate to help the Lady Chargers defeat the visiting Waianae Lady Seariders 10-0 (5) in Oahu Interscholastic Association Western Division I varsity softball on Saturday, March 18 at Pearl City High School. The game was called in the fifth inning due to the 10-run mercy rule.

Kaaialii, the Lady Chargers ace hurler, struck out 9 batters and walked 4 over 5 innings and improved to a perfect 5-0 in league play. Tasaki batted 3-3 with 2 RBI and 2 runs scored. Noel Saunders hit 1-1 with a double and 2 RBI. The Lady Chargers improved to 5-0 and remain in first place in the OIA Western Division I standings. Waianae fell to 0-5.

The Lady Chargers return to action on the road at Mililani (2-4) on Tuesday, March 21 with first pitch scheduled for 3:00pm.

Kylie Tasaki had a big day at the plate for the Lady Chargers hitting 3-3 with 2 RBI

and 2 runs scored. Tasaki is pictured hitting a RBI single in the bottom of the fifth inning

that scored Taylor Shigeta from third base. The Lady Chargers took a 7-0 lead over the

Lady Seariders on the play.  The Lady Chargers scored 6 runs in the bottom of fourth inning.
