Congratulations to our Pearl City Lady Chargers who reached new heights today after being named the state's #1 ranked Division I softball team by the Honolulu Star Advertiser. The Lady Chargers ascend to the top spot over previously ranked #1 Campbell who dropped to #2. The Lady Chargers defeated the Lady Sabers 2-1 on Tuesday, March 14 in a battle of the unbeatens and took sole possesion of first place in Oahu Interscholastic Association Western Division league play. Pearl City followed the win over Campbell with a 10-0 (5) win over Waianae this past Saturday to move to a perfect 5-0. Pearl City ace Tyanna "Peanut Butter" Kaaialii tossed a no-hitter over five innings with the game being called due to the 10-run mercy rule.
The Lady Chargers return to action this afternoon on the road at Mililani (3-2). First pitch is scheduled for 3:00pm.
