Pearl City Elementary students visit Lanakila Multipurpose Senior Center

On March 20, 2017, fourth grade students – Rema Holmes, Justin Miyachi, Adrian Lester Metadio, and Makayla Hernandez visited the Lanakila Multipurpose Senior Center.  The visit coordinated by teacher Mr. Russell S. Minobe and former State Senator and now Program Coordinator at the Center Suzanne Chun-Oakland.  This field trip was a reward for students who show a commitment to their education through character development and demonstrating responsibility.  The students were oriented in the history and mission of the center and participated in activities with members of the center.

The children learned to play the Taiko Koto, making craft message envelopes, collecting small plant pots so they can plant and donate plants to the center's greenhouse renovation, and lastly participating in a dedication of a Pua Keni Keni plant to the Lanakila Multipurpose Senior Center.

Sincerely,

Mr. R Minobe
