Pearl City advances with 2-1 first round win over Roosevelt

Pearl City defeated Roosevelt 2-1 on Wednesday in the first round of the 2017 OIA Division I varsity baseball championship playoffs played at Pearl City High School .

Pearl City's Davin Kapuras drove in Matt Aribal with a game winning, one-out RBI single in the bottom of the seventh inning that broke a 1-1 tie.

Carson Okada earned the win for Pearl City. Okada allowed one run on three hits with seven strikeouts and one walk in seven complete innings.

Hiram Kaikaina took the loss for Roosevelt. Kaikaina allowed two runs on nine hits with six strikeouts and two walks in 6 1/3 innings.

Pearl City (6-7) moves on to face 2017 OIA East Champion and defending OIA DI Champion Kailua (10-2) in the tournament quarterfinals this afternoon at Kailua High School.
