The Pearl City Lady Chargers won the OIA Western Division I Softball Title by defeating the visiting Mililani Lady Trojans 8-7 in a dramatic come-from-behind victory on Saturday at Pearl City High School.
The Lady Chargers put together a six-run bottom of the seventh inning rally that answered Mililani's six-run top of the sixth inning burst that put the Lady Trojans comfortably in front of the Lady Chargers 7-2. Cheyne Obara won the game with a walk-off RBI single that scored her sister Darian Obara from third base with the winning and tie breaking run at 8-7.
The Lady Chargers win over Mililani secured the #1 West seed and a first round bye in the upcoming OIA Division I Softball Championship Tournament. The Lady Trojans also secured a first round bye and the #2 West seed.
Tyanna PB Kaaialii earned the win in 6 2/3 innings of work for the Lady Chargers.
The Lady Chargers also bid Aloha to four very special seniors following the game during the annual Lady Chargers Senior Day Celebration.
