PEARL CITY LADY CHARGERS ADVANCE TO OIA DI SOFTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE GAME AGAINST MILILANI WITH 1-0 WIN OVER CAMPBELL!
The Lady Chargers beat defending state champion Campbell 1-0 on Noel Saunders bottom of the 9th inning, one-out walk-off double that scored Jaeda McFarland from first base with the winning run on Monday at McKinley High School.
Tyanna PB Kaaialii pitched the best game of her career (in my opinion) tossing a no-hitter with 13 K's in 9 complete innings. AMAZING!
Campbell Lady Sabers ace Danielle Cervantes took the loss allowing one run on two hits with eight strikeouts in 8 1/3 innings.
The Lady Sabers missed a golden opportunity to score with the bases loaded in the top of the seventh inning but Kaaialii struck out the next batter Zoie Recolan looking to escape the threat.
The W1 Lady Chargers (11-2) will take on W2 Mililani (11-3) tonight for the OIA DI Softball Championship at 7:00pm at McKinley High School. The Lady Trojans defeated Roosevelt 9-2 in the first of Monday's semifinal doubleheader played at McKinley. Pearl City and Mililani split their regular season series 1-1.
Aiea will play Kalani for the OIA Division II Softball Championship with first pitch scheduled for 5:00pm.
Tonight's OIA DI & DII Championship title games will be broadcasted live from McKinley High School on OC16.
