Mililani captures 11th OIA Softball Championship with 3-1 win over Pearl City

The Mililani Lady Trojans captured their 11th Oahu Interscholastic Association Division I Softball Championship Title by defeating the Pearl City Lady Chargers 3-1 on Tuesday at McKinley High School.

Misha Carreira picked up the championship win for Mililani. Carreira pitched seven complete innings while allowing one run on eight hits with three strikeouts and five walks.

Tyanna Kaaialii took the loss for Pearl City. Kaaialii allowed three runs on four hits with seven strikeouts and three walks.

Taylor Schmerbauch led the Lady Trojans at the plate hitting 2-3, run scored. Maya Yoshiura 1-2, RBI; Markie Okamoto 1-4.

Pearl City – Kylie Tasaki 1-4, double; Jaeda McFarland 2-3; Hailey-Alexis Yamaguchi 1-3, RBI; Tyanna Kaaialii 2-2, double; Darian Obara 1-3, Cheyne Obara 1-2.

Mililani and Pearl City head to the HHSAA State Division I Softball Championship Tournament scheduled for Wednesday, May 3 – Saturday, May 6 at Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium and McKinley High School. Mililani, Pearl City, Campbell, Roosevelt, Leilehua and Kapolei will represent the Oahu Interscholastic Association in the 12 team state tournament.
