Pearl City rolls past Ewa Beach 20-5, advances to championship game against Waipio

Pearl City defeated Ewa Beach 20-5 on Monday, June 12 at Puuloa Park in Ewa Beach to advance to the 2017 Hawaii Little League 10 year old District 7 Championship game against Waipio.

Shawn Mackinaw got the start for Pearl while Masyn Tubania got the start for Ewa Beach.

Pearl City got on the scoreboard in bunches scoring 3 runs in the top of the first inning,  four runs in the second, eight runs in the the third, and five runs in the fourth. Ewa Beach got on the scoreboard scoring four runs in the bottom of the third inning and one run in the bottom of the fourth. The ball game was called after four complete innings due to the 10-run rule.

Pearl City (2-1) will need to defeat Waipio (2-0) twice today in the double elimination formatted tournament to win the championship. If Waipio wins game one, they will be crowned District 7 champions. Waipio rallied back from a 8-2 deficit earlier in the championship tournament to defeat Pearl City 20-10.

Pearl City defeated Waialua 17-2 and Ewa Beach 20-5 to earn a rematch with Waipio for the championship title.

Pearl City's Anthony Bautista had a great day at the plate beginning with a lead-off triple

in the top of the third inning. Bautista is pictured stroking a RBI single in the top of the second

inning. Bautista blasted his second triple of the ball game in the top of the fourth inning.
