Pearl City KRU to face West Raleigh for Cal Ripken 10U World Series Championship

Our amazing Pearl City KRU baseball team will take on West Raleigh, North Carolina today for the 2017 Cal Ripken 10U World Series Championship Crown at Hammond Optimist Sports Complex in Hammond, Indiana. Today's championship game will be the second meeting between the two teams in the championship tournament. Pearl City defeated West Raleigh 2-1 last week Saturday to open pool play. Pearl City scored the winning run late in the ball game on a pass ball at the plate to down West Raleigh.
 
Pearl City defeated St. John, Indiana 10-0 in four innings on Friday in the semifinals to advance to the championship with a perfect 5-0 record. It was the second shut-out win over St. John in the tournament. Pearl City overpowered St. John 13-0 on Tuesday in pool play. West Raleigh (4-1) beat host Hammond 2-1 in Friday's semifinal night cap via a two-run rally in the top of the sixth inning to advance to the championship. Pearl City and Hammond finished pool play at 4-0 that earned both teams an automatic bye into the semifinals.
 
First pitch for today's championship is scheduled for 2:30pm HST.
