Pearl City Thunder move to 3-0 at 2017 Babe Ruth 14U World Series

Pearl City Thunder shut-out South Brazoria, Texas 9-0 on Sunday to improve to 3-0 at the 2017 Babe Ruth 14U World Series in Glen Allen, Virginia. The Thunder followed Saturday's 12-2 blow-out (5 innings) over Maplewood, Minnesota with another dominating world series win on Sunday.
 
Thunder starting pitcher Michael Morgia pitched five impressive, scoreless innings against South Brazoria before being relieved by Randon Kohagura to close out the ball game. Morgia and Kohagura combined for a five-hitter in the shut-out win.


Thunder bats kept up their assault on opposing pitchers in the tournament led by Kelena Sauer who picked up four out of thirteen hits pounded out by the Thunder battery. Sauer went 4-4 with a couple doubles and 3 RBI. Teammate Jaron Yoshikane showed off his power at the plate with a homerun and 2 RBI.

 

Pearl City Thunder move on in pool play this afternoon against host Glen Allen with first pitch schedule for 1:00pm HST.
