Pearl City's Wes Yonamine has been hired as the new head coach of the Chargers varsity baseball program. Yonamine will also oversee and be in charge of both the junior varsity and varsity baseball programs. Yonamine replaces former Chargers head coach Pete Arakawa who stepped down at the end of the 2017 season. Yonamine has extensive experience coaching high school baseball and is also one of Hawaii's top hitting instructors. He was born and raised in Pearl City and played high school baseball at Iolani High School and the University of Hawaii, Hilo. "This is a great opportunity to give back to the Pearl City community through the game of baseball," said Yonamine. "I am truly grateful and excited to work and guide our student athletes while building champions on the diamond, in the classroom, and in the community."

Congratulations Coach Yonamine!
