Pearl City improved to 4-0 in league play after defeating Campbell 3-1 in Oahu Interscholastic Association Western Division Girls Varsity Soccer played on Monday at Pearl City High School. Campbell (3-1) suffered their first loss of the regular season.
The Lady Chargers were in full force as seniors Daelenn Tokunaga and Sunshine Fontes returned to the line-up after a one game absence. They made an immediate impact once they took the field with their exceptional skills and hard charging play from goal to goal.
The Lady Chargers spread the wealth in scoring as Daelenn Tokunaga (16th minute), Brittny Ihara (28th minute), and Hunter Malaki (50th minute) scored a goal each in the win over the Lady Sabers. Jourdyn Curran (59th minute) scored Campbell’s lone goal.
It was so neat to be out there last night and witness history as it's being made with a very special group of Lady Chargers and coaches. I have to say that it’s a total treat and honor for the opportunity to capture the girls in action. Especially the seniors, as they play in the final season of their storied careers while adding another layer of success that will serve to define the legacy that they will leave behind.
