Improvements to the Pearl City Chargers baseball facility entered Phase 2 as community volunteers representing Hawaii Masons Union Local 630 and HMAA, Hawaii Management Alliance Association, prepared and poured cement foundations on Friday, December 29 and Saturday, December 30, 2017.
Volunteers returned on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 to install bleachers that were refurbished by volunteers who repaired and painted the bleacher framing and installed brand new wood planks for the seating.
Mahalo to all the volunteers led by Peter Iriate from the Hawaii Masons Union Local 630 for their efforts in transforming the Chargers baseball stadium and facility into a shining "Field of Dreams" for all Chargers fans and supporters to enjoy while cheering on the Chargers.

"We want to thank HMAA, the medical group, for coming out here and helping us throughout. We also want to thank NBA, National Benefits Solutions for contributing. Also, our donors like Sam Ogiri from Reef Development. Our apprenticeship program, we also have our Union which is a different entity, Local 630 journeyman and apprentice that came out today. OK Hardware gave us all the fiber that's in the concrete and that's a good thing that helps control the cracks for the product. We have our members out here volunteering on their own time, and some of them are graduates of Pearl City High School. We called and asked for their help and they came out willingly and 100% to help their school."

"It's always good for our company, especially HMAA to be out in the community. We've always been taught by our founder Arnold Baptiste to always give back to the community when we can. Working alongside Peter Iriate, the Chairman of the Hawaii Masons Local 630 is always a benefit because it doesn't only benefit us, but it benefits the kids of Pearl City High School. We look at it as a win-win situation and a benefit for the kids of this community. You know, it's amazing, Peter has a great rapport with his membership and as you can see, by the evidence of today, there was over thirty members who are working, or maybe out of work, who comes out even on their family time to donate their time to Peter and his mission and vision. Peter is from this community and it's just like our tradition at HMAA to always give back to the community."
