Lady Chargers rally past Waianae 3-2 in OIA West softball

The Pearl City Lady Chargers got past the visiting Waianae Lady Seariders 3-2 in OIA Western Division softball played yesterday at Pearl City High School.

Jozayah Iriarte picked up the win for the Lady Chargers. Jozayah pitched 7 complete innings allowing 2 runs on 8 hits with 2 strikeouts and 1 walk.

Alohilani Napalapalai took the loss for the Lady Seariders pitching 6 complete innings allowing 3 runs on 4 hits with 1 strikeout and 4 walks.

Pearl City's Alexas Presto-Ahsing batted 1-3 with a double and 2 RBI. Noel Sanders hit 2-4 with a run scored. Maiyah Faleafine-Lesu batted 1-1.

Waianae's Nasha Kahoonei-Awai batted 1-3 with a solo homerun for the Lady Seariders.

The Lady Seariders took an early 1-0 lead in the top of the second inning on a homerun blast to left field by Nasha Kahoonei-Awai. The Lady Seariders added another run in the top the third inning to go up 2-0. The Lady Chargers rallied for 3 runs in the bottom of the third inning on an RBI by Tiari Hernandez and 2 RBI double by Alexas Presto-Ahsing that moved the Lady Chargers in front at 3-2.

The Lady Chargers improved to 3-2 while the Lady Seariders fell to 2-3 in league play.

The Lady Chargers return to action to host Mililani on Tuesday, March 20 at 3:00pm.
