Kapaa sweeps Pearl City 3-0 to advance to HHSAA D2 Volleyball Championship

The Chargers run at the D2 state volleyball championship came to an end last night after being swept by #1 Kapaa 25-23. 26-25, 25-14 in the semifinals of the 2018 HHSAA State Division II Boys Volleyball Championship Tournament played at the St. Francis Gymnasium in Manoa.

Kapaa will take on St. Francis in the D2 championship game at 5:00pm at Neil Blaisdell Center. St. Francis defeated Molokai 3-2 in the semifinal nightcap at St. Francis.

Punahou will take on Moanalua for theDI championship at 7:00pm at Neil Blaisdell Center. Both championship matches will be televised live on Spectrum 16.

Kiran Costa led the Kapaa with 15 kills. Rusdan-Rocket Ahuna had 31 assists.

Jeremiah Perifanos-Taamu scored 13 kills to lead the Chargers. Zion Tupuola-Fetui scored 9 kills. Cameron Reimer contributed with 29 assists.

The Chargers will take on Molokai today at 2:00pm at Neil Blaisdell Center for 3rd place in ther championship tournament.
