Campbell got past Pearl City 10-7 last night in the quarterfinals of the 2018 HHSAA Division I State Softball Championship Playoffs at the University of Hawaii's Rainbow Wahine Stadium. The Lady Chargers and Lady Sabers found themselves in a slugfest with both teams pounding out 14 hits each.
Campbell's Anastasia Iosia led the Lady Sabers with a 4-4 performance at the plate with 2 doubles, 2 RBI, and 3 runs scored. Dyllan Saray-Shiraishi batted 2-4 with 3 RBI and 1 run scored. Chloe Domingo batted 2-4 with a triple, RBI, and run scored. Zoie Recolan went 3-4 with a double, RBI and run scored.
Pearl City's Cheyne Obara batted 3-4 with 2 doubles, 2 RBI and a run scored. Jozayah Iriarte batted 2-3 with 2 runs scored. Alexas Presto-Ahsing went 1-1 with a 2-run homerun and run scored. Braelynn Kaulu-Choy Foo 2-4; Taylor Au 2-4, double, RBI, run; Noel Saunders 1-4, RBI; Tiari Hernandez 1-4; Hailey-Alexis Yamaguchi 2-4, run.
Chloe Sales earned the win for the Lady Sabers pitching seven complete innings while allowing 7 runs on 14 hits with 1 strikeout and 3 walks.
Jozayah Iriarte took the loss for the Lady Chargers in relief. Iriarte pitched 1/3 innings while allowing 3 runs on 3 hits with no strikeouts and no walks.
Campbell moves on to today's semifinals to face Punahou at 7:00pm at Rainbow Wahine Stadium.
Pearl City will play Lahainaluna in a 5th place consolation game at 5:00pm at McKinley High School.
