I would like to express my gratefulness and appreciation to those American service men and women we honor today, as a nation, as we pay our respect for their love of country while laying down their lives to protect our freedom and American flag. They stood proud as the stars and stripes waved above in battle, and later draped them in peace, as they returned home as American heroes.
I would also like to thank all of you who visited the Pearl City Messages of Life Wall at the Pearl City Shopping Center today to post your heartfelt Memorial Day messages.
