Pearl City shuts out Waialua 17-0 in Hawaii Little League D7 Tourney

Congratulations to our Pearl City team who blanked Waialua 17-0 on Saturday to advance through the losers bracket of the 2018 Hawaii District 7 Minors Little League Championship Tournament played at Pearl City District Park.

Pearl City scored 11 runs in the top of the first inning and never looked back. Waialua played with all heart to the last out.

Cohen Adaro earned the win for Pearl City, while James Born got the start for Waialua.

Pearl City will take on Ewa Beach on Sunday for a chance to play undefeated Waipio for the championship on Monday. Waipio knocked Ewa Beach out of the championship tournament undefeated ranks after Saturday's 9-0 shut-out win.

Kevin Fujimori drove in Landin Poopa'a from third base with the first run of the ball game

in the top of the first inning. Poopa'a blasted a lead-off triple to get into scoring position.
