I have some exciting news about our first ever statewide conference we are hosting this school year. In addition to presenting at the upcoming Schools of the Future Conference, we will showcase our Choose Love Movement featuring Scarlett Lewis, the founder of the movement as well as Dr. Chris Kluk, author of The Compassionate Achiever. Teachers and staff from both Kanoelani as well as Ka’elepulu will be sharing hands on strategies and lessons that can be used immediately.
Included in the day will be our teachers showcasing their classrooms to share actual student work and lessons that have transformed our school. Student ambassadors will share their own testimonials and student voices will be heard. Schools and teachers will be able to hear about the importance of teaching the whole child – both the WHY and the HOW!
The Jesse Lewis Choose Love Enrichment Program is a social and emotional (SEL) classroom program teaching children how to choose love in any circumstance. The program focuses on four important character values – courage, gratitude, forgiveness and compassion – which cultivates optimism, resilience and personal responsibility.
