Temporary path created to allow continuous access

A section of the Pearl Harbor Bike Path behind the Ted Makalena Golf Course will be blocked from Aug. 13 – 27 to allow Hawaiian Electric crews to conduct maintenance and repair work on a pipeline. A temporary asphalt-paved path will divert traffic around the work site, allowing bikers and walkers to traverse the path.

As a safety measure, fencing will be placed around the work area and steel plates will be in place over the work site for the duration of the project. Bike path users are asked to exercise caution when passing the work area.

“We want to thank the public, especially area residents, for their patience and understanding while we complete this project,” said Shannon Tangonan, Hawaiian Electric spokesperson.
