Pearl City Walmart Remodel Focuses on Convenience, Customer Service
Project is part of the retailer’s investment in serving today’s customers
Pearl City residents had their first look at the newly remodeled Walmart at 1131 Kuala St.today following a traditional Hawaiian blessing and Maile lei untying celebrating the project’s completion.
Customers can now enjoy the following store improvements:
- State-of-the-art electronics department with interactive displays that allow customers to try laptops, tablets, mobile phones and more before purchase
- Enhanced online Pickup Today area with kiosk for check-in and faster service
- Addition of a Health Services Room to the pharmacy that will be used for immunizations and private consultations
- Expanded bakery and fresh foods department
- Expanded infants department
- Expanded furniture department
- Expanded Walmart MoneyCenter
- Refreshed apparel department
“We are excited to share the new store enhancements with our customers and community,” said Store Manager Derek Gagne. “They’ll experience a fresh new shopping experience that better serves today’s shoppers.”
Committed to the Community
Walmart is committed to serving the local community. In celebration of the grand reopening, four local nonprofits received a total of $6,000 from Pearl City Walmart including $1,500 to Friends of the Library of Hawaii, $1,500 to Lehua Elementary School, $1,500 to Manana Elementary School, and $1,500 to Pearl City Elementary School.

The store employs approximately 380 associates for full- and part-time positions within the store.
